Flat front, back, and sides

Sides are made with a separate piece of fabric from the top and bottom

U-shaped front profile

The top, front, and bottom of the cushion are all one piece of fabric

The top fabric falls over the front like a waterfall and is seamed directly to the bottom plate

Front has a flat bottom but a curved top

Box look but only uses two pieces of fabric

Seam runs through the center of the sides all the way around the cushion

Vertical height created at the corners

Less labor, less fabric, so less expensive

Welt or knife-edge

Straight or Turkish corners

Used in curved mock box cushions in leu of pleats or vertical seams at the corners
