Window Treatment Trends We're Loving for 2025 (and Beyond)

I don't love to use the word  'trend' and worse I hate following a trend for the sake of being on-trend.  However, there are some trends that are definitely going on in the window treatment world.  Even though I have always thought you should go with your taste and what you love rather than a trend, I still wanted to share what I think we will see more of this year.  Who knows, maybe some of these trends will end up being something that you love and will always incorporate into your home’s design.

Window Treatment Trend #1: Cafe Curtains

Cafe Curtains are back. I'm excited to be seeing more cafe curtains in the mix of window treatments lately. They create privacy but still allow the top of the window to let in light and to bring the outdoors in. They are a perfect balance.  You would think the price of them would be half as much since they are half the size.  Unfortunately that's half true.  They take much less fabric than traditional panels of course, but surprisingly they take a very similar amount of time to fabricate as traditional panels and still require hardware.

Window Treatment Trend #2: Shades along side stationary panels

Another trend that is here to stay for a while in my opinion is having a shade in a window opening and stationary panels framing the window.  Shades are functional, have clean lines, and can be less fussy than functional window panels.  However on their own, shades can leave a window treatment still feeling unfinished.  Framing the window in stationary panels is a great balance.

Window Treatment Trend #3: Motorization

As cord safety laws changed last year, we are seeing more and more companies develop motors for shades and drapery. I think as time passes, these motors will come down in price making them more commonplace.  I  personally have two motorized shades and absolutely LOVE them.

So from cafe curtains to drapery panels and shades that are motorized, I'm here to see it to fruition.
